The Central Delaware Physicians Organization (CDPO) was initiated in the late 90’s as a for-profit, clinically integrated, multi-specialty physician’s organization, consisting of over 120 physicians whose primary practice site is in Dover, Georgetown, Milford, Milton, and surrounding areas. It's governing board consists totally of practicing physicians.
The CDPO was originally developed for the purpose of providing leadership in physician-directed managed care and promoting high quality, cost-effective medical care in southern Delaware. It currently accomplishes this goal by working with payers to develop cooperative, flexible programs that satisfy diverse interests. There are now 6 contracts being managed. The organization also remains available as a future resource for physicians for the implementation of new strategies for the delivery of medical care as the market evolves.
