The Medical Society of Delaware is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) as a provider of Continuing Medical Education (CME) for physicians. As an ACCME provider, MSD directly sponsors and jointly sponsors CME activities for physicians, including conferences, symposia, lectures, grand rounds, case review conferences, journal clubs, journal articles, departmental scientific meetings, seminars, and workshops. Physicians attending these activities receive AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.

The MSD Professional and Public Education Committee monitors these activities for compliance with ACCME Essentials and Standards. It is the goal of the Committee to provide the physicians of the state with the means to enhance their competence, performance, and patient outcomes by utilizing innovative and conventional formats and modes to provide and evaluate continuing medical education.  

Further, MSD tracks all Category 1 Credits for MSD members opting in to the Tracking Program to ensure compliance with state licensing requirements and also AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ for all attendees of MSD-sponsored and jointly sponsored education activities.
