A Short Tribute
This will be a short letter this month, but it will be sweet.
In times when physicians may not be viewed in a favorable light by the government or the populace, we have a subject that can only be viewed favorably. It is with great pride that I commend those colleagues who have sacrificed their time and efforts to help the injured populations in the earthquake devastated Haiti.
Many Medical Society of Delaware members have flown to this ravaged country and have reported severe conditions in an already poverty-stricken island. We at MSD continue to monitor reports from this area. I especially enjoyed following Dr. Randeep Kahlon on Twitter. Dr. Kahlon, an MSD board member, was in Haiti for about a week at the time of this letter’s composition. Others have also flown down to lend a needed hand.
Though many of us may not be able to travel to Haiti, I am sure we would sacrifice if we could. However, continued monetary support is very helpful in rescue and rebuilding efforts.
Again, much praise to those who have sacrificed their time and expertise in aiding our fellow humans.
Below is a list of Delaware physicians who have participated in Haitian relief efforts. The list may be incomplete, as I am not aware of every physician who has recently traveled to Haiti.
