Dementia Care in Pandemic Times
Our older adults, especially those with memory disorders, were among the most dramatically affected by the pandemic and by our care innovations. The Swank Center, our system’s consultative service for memory care and geriatrics, swiftly made telehealth services available to our vulnerable population of patients and care partners. The pandemic forced us to rethink how we “meet” with our patients and presented us with new care issues including how to address the needs of patients in isolation and care partners coping with complex grief issues.
